Andre Camilleri & The Broken Hearts - One Fine Day

Andre arrived from Malta in 2006. In Melbourne he fell in with some like minded musicians who make up the Broken Hearts. They are Chris Birnie on bass, James Stewart (T-Bones, Overnight Jones, The Warner Brothers) on lead guitar, Brendan Mitchell (Dead Livers) on pedal steel and Mauro Del Citto (The Rhumbats, April Seven) on drums.

Andre is influenced by the likes of Robert Johnson, Woody Guthrie, Hank Williams, Bo Diddley, George Jones, Gram Parsons, Johnny Cash, Townes van Zandt, Roky Erikson and Jay Farrar. He writes & sings songs about the heart broken & down trodden & together with the band he produces a unique take on real country music with an authentic Australian flavour (with a touch of extra spice from Malta).

Their first album CD ‘One fine day and other songs’ is released by Ramblin’ Man Records, distributed by Sound Vault Records. It is out now.

Andre Camilleri & The Broken Hearts are playing at The Famous Spiegeltent as part of the Melbourne International Arts Festival, dates as follows:
